The next morning, the Ranger Trio set out into the forest, their hearts full of excitement and trepidation. They had packed their gear, including their weapons, their rations, and their camping supplies. They also had a map of the forest, which showed the different paths and trails they could take.

As they walked deeper into the forest, they began to notice signs of a new danger. The trees were twisted and gnarled, their branches reaching out like grasping fingers. The ground was covered in a thick layer of moss, making it slippery and treacherous to walk on. And the animals were silent, as if they knew that something was watching them.

Felkis led the way, her sharp elven senses alert for any danger. Tommot followed close behind, his tiny gnome feet scurrying to keep up. Dallus brought up the rear, his massive half-orc frame providing a reassuring presence.

They walked for hours, following the map and the signs of danger. They encountered traps and pitfalls, which they managed to avoid. They also encountered strange creatures, such as giant centipedes and poisonous snakes, which they dispatched with ease.

But as the day wore on, they began to feel a sense of unease. The forest seemed to be closing in on them, as if it was alive and malevolent. They could hear strange whispers in the wind, and they could feel eyes watching them from the shadows.

“We should set up camp,” Dallus said, breaking the silence. “We need to rest and regroup.”

Felkis nodded in agreement. She knew that Dallus was right, and that they needed to be careful. They found a small clearing, surrounded by tall trees, and set up their camp. They built a fire, and cooked some of their rations, but they didn’t talk much. They were all too aware of the danger that lurked in the forest.

As they settled down for the night, they heard a sound that made their blood run cold. It was a howl, but not like any howl they had ever heard before. It was deep and guttural, and it echoed through the forest like a warning.

“What was that?” Tommot asked, his voice trembling.

“I don’t know,” Felkis said, her hand on her bow. “But we need to be ready for anything.”

And with that, they settled down to sleep, their weapons close at hand, their hearts pounding with fear and excitement. They knew that they were in for a long and dangerous journey, but they also knew that they had each other, and that together, they could face anything.
